Imagine scaling a 20–25 metre cliff, on a natural rock face, right in the heart of Tremblant resort. No experience needed. Our Rock Climbing Initiation is a hands-on, instructor-led climb, designed for beginners and families.

Important information

When should I reserve?

A day in advance is sufficient. We often have same-day availability.

Is this activity for experts?

No, we offer almost exclusively beginner courses.

What should I bring?

Dress according to the weather with good sports shoes. Also bring some water and bug spray.

Can I bring my own equipment?

No. For safety reasons, it is requested to use the equipment provided by our climbing school. Our equipment is maintained and regularly checked according to standards.

If I am a climber, can I climb without a guide at this site?

No, the climbing site is on private property, and for insurance reasons you must climb with a guide.

Can I accompany the participants from my group?

Yes, you can easily access the site to watch.

What should I wear?

Wear good sports shoes and comfortable clothes so you can move freely. Dresses are not suitable for this activity, as you have to wear a harness. It can get very hot on the wall. Make sure you bring plenty of water and sunscreen.

How are your guides?

All our guides are certified by the Fédération québécoise de la montagne et de l'escalade (FQME) in rock or ice climbing (or both), and are trained in first aid.

Our certified climbing instructors take you onto a natural rock face that's 20 to 25 metres (approximately 70 feet) high. We walk you through the fundamentals: How to read the rock, how to place your feet, how to use your harness, all before you start your first ascent. You'll go up and down several times, progressively building confidence with each climb. You'll also learn safety protocols and practice belaying your fellow climbers.

Our climbing wall sits beside the Tremblant resort village, less than a 2-hour drive from both Montreal and Ottawa. The class runs through the warmer months and takes place entirely outdoors.. Expect some physical effort. You'll be pushing with your legs and pulling with your arms, but the pace is yours to set.

Who is this for

This climbing class is made for beginners. No prior experience is needed. It's a great fit for families with kids 5 and up, groups of friends, and anyone curious about what climbing a real cliff feels like. The class requires moderate physical effort: You'll use your leg strength to push up the rock and your arms to maintain balance. If you can climb a ladder, you're ready.

Age and Physical Requirements

  • Minimum age: 5 years old
  • Harness fit: waist 58–107 cm (23–42"), legs 43–71 cm (17–28")
  • Expectant mothers cannot to participate

Group dynamics

  • Minimum group: 2 adults, or 1 adult and 2 children
  • Maximum 9 guests per departure
  • Solo guests are welcome but pay a premium. If there is another participant on your tour, please contact us and we'll refund the premium.

What to expect

  • Duration: approximately 2h
  • Location: natural rock face beside Tremblant resort village. We are situated less than a 2-hour drive from Montreal and Ottawa.
  • You will climb the wall multiple times, with instructor guidance throughout
