Important information

When should I reserve?

Reservations for weekends and vacations should be made 1 to 2 weeks in advance. For any other time, reservations should be made a few days in advance.

For kayaking is the river calm?

There is 1 very small set of rapids at the beginning that can be easily portaged, then current will move you along.

Can I do the self-guided kayaking if it is my first time kayaking?

Yes.

5 km self-guided calm water river descent (2h)

Our self-guided kayaking activity begins at our dock on the Rivière du Diable, after a short 5-minute walk along our trails, and ends 5 km further, at the meeting point for the return shuttle which picks you up 2 hours after your departure. It gives you plenty of time to enjoy the river and its beaches since the route can be completed in less than 1 hour 30 minutes if you paddle non-stop.

8 km self-guided river descent (3h)

Go down the Diable river for a distance of 8 km. You will start with a short section of rapids (level R1 - easy) and then explore the curves of the river up to our dock. A short 5-minute walk on our trails will take you to your vehicle.

18 km self-guided river descent (5-6h)

Descend the Diable river on an 18 km section perfect for the whole family in a single or double kayak. You will explore the meanders of the river passing through two sections of rapids (level R1 - easy) for a bit of action! You will finish at our dock and a short 5-minute walk on our trails will lead you to your vehicle.

Know before you book :

  • Minimum 4 years old.
  • Minimum 16 years old to participate alone.
  • There is an easy R1 section on both the 8 km and 18 km options.
  • 7 years old and under must be in the same kayak as an 18 year old+.
  • 15 years old and under must be accompanied by someone aged 18+.


    • Know before you go:

  • Please dress appropriately for kayaking. Ask if you are unsure or see our What to wear section.
  • WHAT TO BRING: Bring a bottle of water, watch or phone to know the time, swimsuit, hat, sunscreen, sandals or water shoes, snacks or lunch, waterproof bag for your personal belongings, dry clothes in your vehicle.

  • You have 1h30/ 3h / 6h to paddle down the river. A fee of $15 per person is charged for every 30 minutes of delay. There is an easy R1 on this section. (only for 8km and 18 km)

  • Our base is 20 minutes from Tremblant resort and approximately 1h45 drive from Montreal and 2h15 from Ottawa.
  • Duration - 5 km self-guided calm water river descent: Approximately 2h.
  • Duration - 8 km self-guided river descent: Approximately 3h.
  • Duration - 18 km self-guided river descent: Approximately 5-6h.
  • For guests who choose to reserve in advance (recommended), directions to meeting points will be provided in your reservation by email. Otherwise, directions will be handed to you when you reserve at The Activity Centre.
