More information
We have two ways to fly fish with us on the Diable River, and they are built for very different experience levels.
The Discovery Clinic is for beginners — guests who have never held a fly rod, or who have tried once and want to actually learn how to do it properly. Your instructor starts on land, walking you through the casting techniques used in both still-water and river conditions. You’ll practise your stroke, learn to read the line, and build the muscle memory that makes fly casting feel natural. The session also covers fly selection, essential knots, and equipment choices suited to your fishing style. Everything you learn gets put to use the same day with actual fly fishing on the Diable River. In a few hours, you go from never having cast a fly rod to fishing a real trout river.
The River Wading Adventure is designed for intermediate and advanced fly fishers who want a full day on the water. The Diable is a freestone river fed by mountain streams and brooks running out of the Laurentian highlands. It holds speckled trout, brown trout, and rainbow trout across a wide variety of water types — runs, pools, riffles — that reward technical presentations and careful water reading. Your instructor adapts the day to river conditions and your experience level, whether you’re working on your presentation, reading water more precisely, or targeting trophy trout.
Choosing your day
Both options are available as a half-day (4h) or a full day (8h). The 4h option includes fishing with breaks. The 8h day is structured around 3 hours of fishing in the morning, a 1-hour lunch break, and 4 hours of fishing in the afternoon. We provide snacks (soft bar or fresh fruit) and water — participants bring their own lunch.
Both options are available with or without transport from our Centre d’Activités at Tremblant resort to the river. If you prefer to make your own way there, meeting point details are included in your reservation confirmation.
Both options include all the fishing equipment and accessories you need.
