Dogsledding - Valley Adventure

Welcome to our family dogsledding trip in the upper Laurentians. At the start of this adventure, you will be greeted at our base in the forest, where you’ll meet the Nordic dogs (Siberian huskies) of our pack. Each dog has its own personality, and you’ll quickly discover which ones are the trouble makers, the comedians, and the social butterflies of our pack.

Before hitting the trail on our Valley Adventure dogsledding, your guide will help you harness the huskies (except for the 11h departure, when our dogs are already harnessed before you arrive), learn your dogs’ names and give you simple instructions on how to drive your dog team through winding forest trails. This ride is suitable for beginners.

Before the departure, our guides will decide positions on the sleds: if you have a particular position request, please let our guide know when you arrive. All adults will be teamed up: there will be 1 driver and 1 or 2 passengers per sled (depending on weight). Adults will usually, but not always, drive their own dog sled with an adult passenger. Passengers and drivers from the same sled can switch places halfway through the ride. Children (under 11) may be required to ride as passengers on the guides’ sleds or ride on their parents’ sled.

You’ll drive your sled for 1h through winding forest trails bordered by pine trees, suitable for everyone from first-time mushers to experienced drivers. We will take a break halfway at a sheltered stop to warm up and taste some hot chocolate and maple cookies, a good moment to share stories and take photos with your team. Once we’re back at our base, you’ll have time to pet the dogs and reward them with some cookies! It’s a special time spent with the pack!

At the end of the dogsledding ride, a hot bowl of soup will be served (tomato and vegetables or chicken noodle soup) as you warm up. This is when you’ll realize why dogsledding has been a favourite winter experience for over 25 years. Make sure to bring your camera, the dogs love posing for photos almost as much as they love running! Our photographer is also on site to capture your ride, and the photos are for sale at our base.

Who is This for?

We designed this experience for moderate intensity and to suit beginners and families with children 4 years old and up. Drivers need basic coordination, a moderate level of fitness, and the ability to follow instructions for steering and braking. Passengers can simply enjoy the ride while taking in the winter forest.

Know Before You Reserve

OUR DOG SLEDDING FILLS UP WEEKS IN ADVANCE FOR HOLIDAY WEEKS (Christmas, President’s Week, School Breaks) AND WEEKENDS. MAKE SURE TO RESERVE IN ADVANCE.

Age and Physical Requirements

• Dogsledding is a sport. Participants will be active during the ride
• Minimum 4 years old
• Participants over 240lbs/109kg please indicate weight in the comments section of the reservation.
• No expectant mothers

Group Dynamics

• Minimum 2 participants per reservation
• Children may be required to ride as passengers on the guides’ sleds or ride on parents’ sleds.
• Children 5 years old and under will be with a guide and a family member.
• Minimum of 2 passengers for a shuttle (option with transportation).
• Reserve all participants under one reservation to ensure your group stays together

What to Expect

• Our base is located at 1h10 from the Tremblant resort and 2h30 from Montreal and Ottawa.
• Duration: 1h ride on the trails, with a 15-minute break halfway through to enjoy a hot chocolate.
• Coffee and drinks for sale at our welcome area ($).
• Photos of your ride for sale on site ($)
• We recommend bringing/renting a car in Montreal if you are coming to visit the Mont-Tremblant area and want to get around easily. We are in a rural area so taxis/rideshare can be limited or delayed in high season. That being said, you can also choose a low-impact adventure: many of our activities are accessible on foot, bicycle or by public transportation.

Know Before You Go

• Please dress appropriately for dogsledding. Ask if you are unsure or see our What to wear section.
• We can lend boots and warm clothing on site, but it’s best to arrive already dressed for the cold.
• Meeting time no transport: 15 minutes before your departure

We recommend reserving in advance as spaces fill up. After your reservation, you will receive 2 emails immediately:

• a reservation with important info such as driving directions for your meeting point and meeting time for your activity
• a receipt of payment
